BOD Consulting started its journey in Delhi, India
We started as Brands of Desire in 2008, a strategy-led brand consultancy firm that focused on two main areas of work; new brand creation and brand transformation. In the process, we built our core capabilities in strategy consulting, brand design, verbal identity, digital experience and project management.
2010
Missed bringing onboard exceptional independent talent
In 2010, a highly qualified and motivated individual reached out to us with the desire to work as a freelancer. Unfortunately, at the time, we did not fully appreciate the potential benefits that talented individuals can bring to an organisation, even if they are not under a full-time contract with the organisation. In the years to come, we missed out on the opportunity to work with many such exceptional candidates.

We started as Brands of Desire in 2008, a strategy-led brand consultancy firm that focused on two main areas of work; new brand creation and brand transformation. Brands of Desire became BOD Consulting
In 2018, the company underwent a rebranding and became BOD Consulting. We restructured our offerings and began providing management consulting services along with brand consultancy services. We started assisting leaders in solving pressing business challenges to help them build impactful organisations. As a result of this expansion, our consultancy team grew but unlike the creative team, they were still working from the office.
2019
Implementation of Work from Anywhere for the entire organisation
As we onboarded more consultants, they too expressed a desire for us to trust them and provide flexibility to enable them to excel in all areas of their lives and do their best work at BOD. In 2019, we implemented the ‘Work from Anywhere’ concept for the entire organisation.

Introducing iBODian- Liquid workforce became a reality
Since the inception of the Work from Anywhere concept, times kept evolving with more and more professionals seeking fluidity in their workspace. Through our prior experience, we learned that listening to the needs of our team would lead to something good and realised that while career advancement is important, it should also align with each team member’s passions and interests. Around 2014, our creative team experienced a high turnover rate. We attempted to solve this by offering various perks and incentives but these efforts were largely unsuccessful.
It was time to pivot - we started listening more actively to our creatives and learned that they valued the freedom to work anywhere, anytime and the flexibility to pursue multiple work interests outside of work hours.

Then, we overcame our initial apprehensions and launched the ‘Work from Anywhere’ concept. BOD Creatives could now work from their desired location at any time of day or night knowing that their performance would be evaluated based on output rather than predetermined hours. We also opened up to the idea of them taking up work in their spare time that did not conflict with our interests. Simply put, we did not want to restrict their creativity with a contract.
The pilot project was a great success as it immediately increased retention and created a more favourable and positive work environment.

In 2021, we introduced another concept in our work structure - iBODian. iBODian stands for independent BODian, a professional that represents our liquid workforce. iBODians are skill-based professionals who devote time to BOD Consulting at their convenience on certain projects rather than functions.
This flexible, adaptable and responsive workforce quickly shifts and pivots to meet the changing needs of BOD Consulting. Today, we have iBODians who are consultants, writers, designers, web developers and even senior partners in the organisation.
